The success story continues, the bar is raised again!
The 8th Limassol Boat Show, held at Limassol Marina from 23 - 26 May 2024, concluded with incredible success, highlighting the rapid and exciting growth of the recreational nautical sector in Cyprus. This event continues to solidify Limassol as the yachting hub of the East-Med region and the home of the yachting industry on the island.
Visitors to Limassol Boat Show had the opportunity to enjoy the latest in yachting, water sports, recreational fishing, diving, product displays, a marine environment information centre and marine demonstrations. This year, for the first time in the Eastern Mediterranean, an exclusive range of luxury yachts was showcased at the event, courtesy of more than 120 exhibitors from Cyprus, Greece, Great Britain, Israel, Lebanon, the USA, and Finland. One of the standout moments of the show was the debut of at least ten new yachts and boats which drew significant attention for their innovative design and eco-friendly features. Attendees also tested the latest water sports equipment and participated in live demonstrations.
Despite geo-political challenges in the wider region, the Limassol Boat Show remains an essential opportunity to bring the industry together, giving yachting professionals and service providers from around the globe the chance to attract new business and support their clients with new products and services. The show has evolved into one of Cyprus’s leading international community events, promoting nautical tourism and fostering eco-initiatives for the sustainable care for the seas among the local population.
Special mention should be made of the “2nd Limassol Boat Show Conference: Cyprus, the new yachting hub of the East Med”, which was organised and hosted for the second time within the framework of the show. The conference was a great success, its growth signalling the importance of a platform for industry professionals and stakeholders to debate and discuss vital topics for the positive development of the yachting sector in Cyprus. The increasing participation of speakers and industry leaders highlights the sector’s significance and the strength of a unified voice in advocating for government support. This year’s conference marked a notable achievement, featuring exceptional speakers who offered new insights and recommendations on the need for a comprehensive / holistic E.U policy exclusively for yachts.
The 4-day show was further elevated by a unique artistic performance by the band “Astoria Violins” who entertained visitors with electronic music vibes; a Live Saxophone Concert; a special live performance by the jazz group “The Jazz Trio Lounge Concert”; and uplifting live music by Christina Averkiou Band.
In his statement after the event, the Director of organising company Dacor Advertising & Media Ltd, Mr. Aristos Aristidou, said, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to this year's Limassol Boat Show. The increased participation from exhibitors and the quality of attendees underscores the growing interest and investment in the marine industry. Our goal has always been to provide a platform for showcasing the best in boating while promoting innovation and sustainability."
On behalf of Limassol Marina, the General Manager, Mr. Nikiforos Pampakas, stated: "It is a fact that our primary goal, which was to establish the Limassol Boat Show as the most sought-after international exhibition of leisure boats in the Southeast Mediterranean, has been completely achieved! International recognition of the show emphasises the potential of the exhibition in contributing significantly to the consolidation of Cyprus on the world map of leisure boats and in the development of the industry at a local level. The challenge now is to stay on the steps of success and for each event to be better than the last."
Limassol Boat Show 2024 is organised by Dacor Advertising and Media Ltd and Limassol Marina Ltd.
