Limassol Marina announces its support to Project Full Circle as host marina and project partner

Limassol Marina proudly announces its collaboration with Project Full Circle (PFC), a pioneering multi-million-euro initiative aiming to set a new UIM round-the-world powerboat record. This groundbreaking project will be based at Limassol Marina, serving as the official homebase and the start/finish point for the 80ft superboat's record attempt in 2025.

Project Full Circle will not only strive to break the current world record of 60 days, 23 hours, and 49 minutes but also showcase revolutionary hybrid fuel technology. Developed in partnership with Advanced Fuel Development, this innovative fuel mix dramatically reduces emissions, aligning with the IMO’s 2030 standards. The vessel, designed by Professor Bob Cripps, features an ultra-efficient hull made from marine-grade aluminium, reducing fuel consumption by up to 30%.

The project's sustainability efforts extend to offsetting its carbon footprint through seagrass planting, a powerful carbon sink. Additionally, the superboat will be equipped with cutting-edge monitors and sensors to collect real-time data on engine performance and emissions, supporting a comprehensive educational program focused on marine conservation.

A micro-plastic testing program will further enhance environmental research by mapping ocean pollution, with data made available open source and samples analysed by the University of Portsmouth.

This initiative emphasises Limassol Marina’s commitment to sustainability and educational outreach, marking a significant milestone in marine innovation and environmental stewardship.
